Neurodivergent Affirming Workplaces

This webinar explores what it means to create neurodivergent-affirming workplaces in early childhood settings. Just as our children are diverse, so too is our workforce bringing a rich range of lived experiences that are often present but not always represented. This session invites participants to reflect on how workplace cultures, expectations, and practices can either include or exclude, and encourages practical thinking around building environments where all educators can thrive.

  • Recognise how neurodivergent experiences are reflected—yet often underrepresented in the early childhood workforce.
  • Reflect on workplace norms and practices that may unintentionally exclude or disadvantage neurodivergent colleagues.
  • Explore practical strategies to create more inclusive, affirming, and accessible environments for all team members

Suitable For: All staff members (practitioners and support/admin staff)

Delivered by:  Kerry Murphy who is an Early Years SEND Specialist and has worked with a local authority. Kerry has had strategic responsibility for the quality of SEND provision including developing the SENCO and SEND-Based training programmes. She lectures at a London University and is currently undertaking a PHD in early childhood early intervention.
