Meet the Team

We are the office team at PATA. We have a wealth of knowledge that enables us to offer personal support to our members. Our knowledge of the sector, and specifically community groups, means we understand the specific and unique challenges faced by you and your team.

We’d like to tell you a bit about who we are and what we do as we’re proud to be part of our PATA community.

Paula Hayball

CEO

I spent 27 years in banking and finance developing high performing teams, but I’d always wanted to work with children. I originally came to PATA as a learner and did every short course going! I started working in a setting, progressing to the Management Team and completing my Level 5 qualification.

During this time I joined the Board of Trustees of PATA until the opportunity arose to move into the Chief Executive Officer role. I’ve now been in this role since 2015 during which time we’ve taken on the management of 4 PATA Managed Groups and seen many other changes.

Wendy Beale
Finance Manager

My role involves all of the PATA and PMG’s finances and overseeing of our payroll service. Previous roles included software engineer, senior programmer and accountant to my husband. Whilst raising my children I did lots of volunteering: at my local toddler group, playgroup, school PTA and at the Gloucester PATA branch where I also worked in the consortium, toy library and crèche. I joined PATA in 2001 as a financial assistant.

Julie Morgan
Payroll Service and PATA Managed Groups Administrator

I administer the payroll for our members; from processing, producing payslips, submitting HMRC returns to offering support and advice. I also manage the NEF for our PMG’s. Previously I held various payroll positions in the RAF and volunteered extensively in my local toddler and playgroup whilst my children were small, before becoming the Financial Administrator for Tiny Tots Playgroup.

Rachael Purse
Payroll Assistant and Support for Settings

My main role at PATA is to process member payrolls. I also support our Member Settings by answering any day to day queries they may have. I joined PATA in 2016, but previously worked in HR and as a Payroll Advisor. I have spent many years volunteering in my local playgroup in various roles and have 3 young children at home that keep me busy when I’m not working.

Lisa Bell
Training and PMG Administrator

I work in the office 3 days a week and job share with Rachel. I co-ordinate training for National Qualifications and work closely with our funding providers to support our learners. I also offer administrative support to our PATA Managed settings. I have worked for PATA for over a decade and volunteered on a playgroup committee when my two children were young.

Debs Adams
Project Support Officer and Membership Support

My role is to secure funding for new projects and support them in set up, operation and evaluation. I also support our members and write much of our Chatter and social media. I worked in the travel industry for 10 years before raising my family during which time I volunteered at my local playgroup and as a PATA trustee before starting this role in 2011. When not in PATA I work as a SEND TA in reception class.

Helen Ducker
PATA Support Officer

My main responsibilities are to offer support to our PMG’s, co-ordinate our membership and collate and produce much of our marketing materials and training brochures. Previous to PATA I worked in the training department of an exam board before re-locating to Moldova to run community projects and raise my family. We returned to the UK in 2014 and I joined PATA the following year.

Rachel McKie
Training and PMG Administrator

I work in the office 3 days a week job sharing with Lisa. I co-ordinate training for National Qualifications and short courses. I also offer administrative support to our PATA Managed settings. I worked for the Bank of England, Trading Standards and GlosCol as an Apprenticeship Co-ordinator before joining PATA. During my time as a mum I also volunteered at my local playgroup on the committee.

Lauren Higgins
Apprentice Training Administrator

My role is to provide much administrative support across the organisation – this includes designing and producing support materials for our projects, as well as information sheets for our members. After 6th form I volunteered for a national charity before joining PATA as a volunteer and then being offered an Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

Our own staff team is continually growing and changing in line with our current work and plans; in addition to our office staff team we have a number of tutors delivering our training, a number of staff working on our projects and the teams of staff that form our PATA Managed groups. See other sections of our website to meet the other members of our team.
