This is the first of a two part workshop aimed at improving observation and assessment skills (see workshop below) and knowledge.
SUITABLE FOR: Practitioners working with children from 0-5 years with the EYFS.
COURSE INFORMATION: In order to work effectively with children it is essential that their development is assessed and then supported. Using the right observations can support the effective planning for next steps in a child’s development and make the links to the characteristics of effective learning.
This session will involve sharing observation practice with examples from your own setting as well as practical activities observing children and recording their development. It will look at the expected patterns of development and compare this with the development matters to ensure accurate records are made. You will then be asked to carry out observations in settings and bring them along to the second workshop.
