Out of School Project

PATA have been awarded a grant to run a small project that supports Out of School Groups within our membership. The project includes a 4 week programme that aims to:

·         improve play setting’s staff confidence, skills and well-being,

·         reduce feelings of isolation,

·         improve children’s confidence and wellbeing (through inclusion and participation)

This is achieved through an organisational healthcheck, consultation and demonstrating activities.

We have already run the programme in two groups with great outcomes. Project activities have supported groups to see the benefits of risky play - a great way to engage older children - working with staff to look at risk assessing in a positive way, with the benefits being prioritised.

Staff member The demonstration allowed the children to be independent as well as guiding them to be safe'.

Child taking part “I found it fun and I want to do it again…I got excited.”

If you would like to know more about the project, please contact Debs Adams on 01452 541244 / info@pataglos.org.uk.
