Course Aim:  This course will provide you with the necessary skills to both understand and successfully use symbols and visual systems to support children with Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, including supporting children with English as an additional language.            

 

Course Information: During the session we will discuss

· What are symbols and their role in communication?

· Symbolic development stages

· Examples of different symbols and visuals used for supporting communication

· Problem solving what to use and the reasons why

· How to successfully use symbols and visuals to communicate 

 

Suitable For: Any Early Years Practitioners and Managers

Delivered by: Naomi Webber, Early Language Advisor, with 14 years Speech and Language Therapy practice experience with Early Years.
