ITC Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (QCF) Course

Course Aim: This qualification meets Ofsted requirements for those working in early years settings and uses the criteria for effective paediatric first aid training found in Appendix 1 of The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Practice Guidance document.

Course Information: The current EYFS statutory framework requires at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate to be on the premises or outings at all times when children are present.

QCF Recognition: This qualification is part of the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) regulated by OfQual (the official regulator of qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland).

Qualification Structure: This qualification is built from 2 mandatory units of assessment.  One unit normally taught per day, modular and progressive training.

· Unit 1 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (QCF code H/506/0792)

· Unit 2 Managing Paediatric Illness, Injuries and Emergencies (QCF code D/506/0791)

Passing both units lead to the ITC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid  (QCF Qualification number 601/3327/2) On successful completion this qualification has a credit value of 3 credits.

Suitable For: those who might have to identify and manage emergency situations or manage minor everyday occurrences when looking after young children.  

This course will be tutored by 2nd Chance First Aid
