SEN 2: Identification, intervention and IEPs

A series of linked sessions that can be accessed separately or as a series.  

SUITABLE FOR: Early Years SENCOs and all those interested in supporting young children with special needs.

COURSE INFORMATION: This session will explore the need to recognise the importance of early identification and intervention to promote best outcomes for all children and especially those with additional needs. Understanding will be developed in how to identify appropriate long, medium and short term targets for those with additional needs that provide high expectations and achievement through SMART plans. 

COURSE OBJECTIVES Explain each stage of the Graduated response; differentiate learning for children; know at least 3 different observation and assessment methods; describe the purpose of early intervention in line with the SEN Code of Practice; write SMART long, medium and short term targets; know the stages of the IEP process.

COURSE AIM: To understand the importance of identification, intervention and SMART IEPs to support individual needs.
